Sometimes work comes to you for weird and wonderful reasons. I got a call out of the blue from the executive committee of the Satir Institute of the Pacific. The reason? I moved a house. They knew that anyone with the guts to move a house would have the chutzpa to come up with the right identity for them.

The Satir Institute of the Pacific is a member driven organization that strives to improve psychologists’ approach to healing through various training programs and resources. I spent a few weeks researching the psychologist who developed their method, Virginia Satir, before facilitating a branding workshop to help define the direction. They felt very strongly that the identity show a connection with nature and demonstrate inclusivity and personal growth. I wanted to incorporate these aspects into a logo and tagline that would show them as very professional and approachable.
